Discreet advantage

Problem: Store 34 sets of silverware in a kitchen of 1.80 X 4.90 m (6 X 16 ft) of the designer Philip Mitchell. Sets should not obstruct the use of everyday utensils, while remaining easily accessible.

Solution: Install a secret drawer behind the feet of the cabinet. “It’s a wasted space and, in an apartment, you must use every square inch,” says Philip. The company Bellini Custom Cabinetry has installed the drawer of 107 X 61 cm (42 x 24 inches) that opens and closes softly. Antioxidant fabric covers the inside of the drawers, while  practices divisions help maintain order.
