The percentage of couples who have been together between one to five years and still hold hands a few times each week, as reported in the new book The Normal Bar, a collection of relationship data from nearly 100,000 people. Those paired up for longer are less likely to lock fingers: Only 45 to 47 percent of couples hold hands after more than a decade of commitment. But research has shown that holding your partner’s hand can lessen stress, even when you’re arguing. So extend your palm – on February 14 and beyond – to benefit yourself and your main squeeze.
