If you’re like us you have your cell phone always handy to take your pictures. You may have a digital camera but again, the pictures are digital. We are at a certain crossroads. We take a lot of pictures to keep treasured moments and memories, but there all stuck in a device.
On the other hand by being stored on hard drives and else, we don’t have them handy to actually share those moments like the old photo albums that people used to have laying on the coffee table or in any bookcase. So many of our history went away through fires or other natural disaster or just by being so old, they actually faded away.
We also hear so much about recycling, being careful about our imprint on nature so when I read about this company I thought it was a good idea to share it with you. So you can also display your moments in books to share or for gifts and make a difference as well. There’s several companies that offer this type of service but not with those purposes. I prefer to buy from a company that not only do they offer great products but also have a conscience. So many don’t!
Here is an american company based in Denver, Colorado that has made their mark with special ideas and genuine recycling methods : Artifact Uprising
we strive to be kind stewards to mama earth whose outdoors shape so much of who we are. we are committed to using environmentally responsible papers, to rethinking how and why we source materials, to creating quality products whose final resting place is not a landfill. Eternal students to it all, we seek to ever-improve our practices and reduce our footprint, all in the spirit of becoming better citizens. always.
PURPOSE WITHIN THE PRODUCT
Born from our love for the outdoors, we strive to create innovative products that reflect and respect the wild places that inspire so much within us. This is why you’ll find many of our products use recycled and reclaimed materials where possible. We aim to not only create products that won’t end up in a landfill, but—by using recycled paper in our books—we limit what gets to the landfill in the first place.
Create products with purpose. We’ve repurposed new uses for Mountain Beetle Pine wood – otherwise considered waste – to create the wood products.
MADE IN USA
Artifact Uprising is proud to make all of our products right here in the U.S.A. By making things at home, we make jobs here too.
Our calendars and wood block + prints provide jobs for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Partnering with SKCAC, a non-profit based in Seattle, their team proudly assembles and brands these products. Employment is empowering and gratifying – and we are proud to be a part of their vision.
